In Kir Reel’s live sets, the music evolves through repetition and gradual change. A rhythmic pattern can remain recognisable while timbres shift around it, accents move and new combinations of sounds emerge. Odd time signatures add tension while maintaining a danceable groove.

Modular synthesis and sampling come together in a single performance system. During each set, Kir Reel shapes individual parts, their sound and the way they interact: adding and removing layers, changing the density of the arrangement and building transitions. The set develops not only through changes in material, but also from within the repeating patterns themselves.

The sound combines the spatial depth of dub techno, the gradual evolution of hypnotic techno and the driving energy of high-tempo mental/tribe. Throughout, the focus is on rhythm and detail: a small change can give a familiar part a different character.
